The ADAM Audio D3V Desktop Monitors are a pair of fully active speakers designed to deliver professional-grade sound in a compact and stylish form. Engineered for songwriters, producers, and music enthusiasts, they combine ADAM Audio’s acclaimed precision and clarity with a versatile design suitable for home studios, production spaces, and casual listening setups.
Each monitor features a 3.5-inch aluminum woofer driven by a ferrite magnet system, dual-sided passive radiators for enhanced low-end response, and a 1.5-inch D-ART tweeter that ensures accurate and detailed high frequencies. Together, they provide a full-range frequency response from 45 Hz to 23.2 kHz (-6 dB) with a total system power of 240 watts — 80 watts for each woofer and 40 watts for each tweeter — delivering powerful, distortion-free sound even at high volumes.
Connectivity options include USB-C for direct computer or mobile device connections and two balanced TRS inputs for versatile studio integration. The monitors also feature onboard DSP room adaptation controls with 3-way switches for bass, low-mid/mid, and treble adjustments, allowing users to fine-tune the sound for their acoustic environment. A multifunction volume knob provides easy access to volume, mute, standby, input selection, and firmware updates.
The D3V’s design emphasizes both form and function, with detachable stands for angled desktop placement and 3/8" threaded mic stand mounting points for flexible positioning. Each speaker measures 200 x 115 x 150 mm and weighs 3.58 kg, making it compact yet solidly built.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
