The Audient Sono 10in / 4out Audio Interface is a professional-grade USB interface designed for musicians, producers, and guitarists seeking studio-quality sound and versatile recording capabilities. Combining Audient’s renowned analogue audio technology with modern DSP features, it delivers pristine, detailed audio for multi-channel recording and performance.
Featuring a 10-in/4-out configuration, the Sono includes a classic 12AX7 tube valve preamp that provides warm, rich tones, complemented by a 3-band analogue EQ for precise tonal shaping. Its built-in JFET DI input ensures authentic instrument recordings, while Two Notes Torpedo power amp and cabinet modeling allow for realistic guitar and bass emulation. Additional connectivity includes ADAT input for expanding channel count and a reamp output for sending clean DI signals back through external amps.
The interface offers ultra-low latency monitoring and an advanced headphone amplifier for accurate, real-time performance. Onboard DSP technology enables cab simulations, mic placement emulation, and live room effects, all accessible directly from the unit. Standalone mode allows storage and instant recall of up to three presets, making it ideal for live sessions or quick studio setups.
Compact yet powerful, the Audient Sono seamlessly integrates with existing pedalboards, external preamps, and DAWs, providing flexibility for any workflow. Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
